This is a nice little mod that pertains to the 14mm and .223 pistols. Basically, this mod replaces the SFX for these items with the ones from Fallout. See the Readme file for installation instructions.

After you finish the Temple of Trials, save and exit the game. Then, replace the ARVILLAG.SAV file in your save game folder with this file (the folder should be located in your Fallout 2 directory. Example: "C:\Program Files\BlackIsle\Fallout2\data\SAVEGAME\SLOT01"). Then, go back into the game. You can now find a bunch of useful items throughout Arroyo, including a lot of ammo, every gun, and every set of armor, as well as a GECK.

With this mod, all of your team members will change appearance depending on which armor they are wearing. This is a very nice mod, but I was unable to get it to work with previously saved games. However, the mod does claim to be compatible with saved games. Either way, this mod is worth downloading.

This mod replaces your Highwayman with either a black one or a rusty beaten up one. To install it, use one of the following methods (provided by Duck and Cover):
Method One: Before doing anything, look in you main Fallout 2 directory for a file name patch000.dat. This is the important file that makes the newer patched version of Fallout 2 run - so it would be nicer if you didn't lose it. Once you have found it, rename it to something like realpatch.dat.
Then extract the zip file you've downloaded (paintjob.zip) into the main Fallout 2 directory. You should now have two new DAT files (rusty car.dat and black car.dat), and you'll need to rename one of them to patch000.dat. Once that's done, you're ready to try the mod - just run Fallout 2 in the normal way.
[Note: Because the original patch000.dat file isn't being used by the Fallout 2 program anymore, the latest bug fixes you're used to won't be running.]
Method Two:
If you have the brilliant FAME program installed, all you need to do is extract the zip file (paintjob.zip) into its /patch subdirectory. Then run FAME - and that's it... Also worth noting is that with FAME you can run the patch AND as many mods as you like (although obviously two cars isn't going to work). (FAME can be found on this page)

Well, the Readme file says "This file will transform the New Reno chop shop into a wondrous treasure trove of weapons and equipment." To say the least, this mod not only delivers but exceeds this promise. Just view the readme file and follow the directions there to install.

Cheers goes out to Jim, a local of the Community, for pointing this mod out to me. To install this mod, just extract it to your Fallout 2 folder. For the most part, this file modifies the name and descriptions of some weapons, armor, and ammo. Plus, it changes a few other items completly, including the pic and damage. Overall, this is a pretty spiffy mod.

This modification is one that every Fallout 2 fan should check out. It will change the pipe rifle into a Gecko Fire Weapon, Combat Leather Armor into the Gecko Flame Armor, and the Rocket Launcher into a Deathclaw Launcher that does a lot of damage! However, it should be noted that the only weapon compatible with the Gecko Flame Armor is the Gecko Flame Weapon. Either way, be sure to check out this mod. Cheers goes out to Jim for sending me this mod, and to Grendelin for creating it.

This patch is only for NON-US versions of Fallout 2. If you do not see kids in your game, then use this patch. First, unzip all the files to your Fallout 2 directory, and then install the US patch (you need a *.exe file from that archive) and that's it. Also, be sure to note that if you do not have any children in your game, it might be because it is against the law in your country to have children in any game. If this is the case, you could be breaking the law of your country by using this patch.

This is the official Fallout 2 Editor. However, it may not be what you expect. Here is what Interplay said about it: "Please keep in mind that this editor is not the holy grail. It was never meant to be released to the public. As a result, you may boot the editor up and realize that it doesn't match your expectations for a commercially-released RPG editor. You may suffer some retina burn. Perhaps a strange itching sensation. Constipation. So be prepared - you are about to experience a game editor, intended only for developers."

TeamX presents "Fallout2: A New Vision" v1.2 -- final release! -- ================================================================================ "A New Vision" is our first major Fallout2 mod. It contains quite a bit, but mainly and first of all: - plot changes (over 20 characters, 7 of which are completely new and the remaining have had their dialogs rewritten and new quests implemented) - new items (over 30 in all, including weapons and drugs) - maps (some original levels have been redone, and a few new minor locations have been added) - ...everything else (changes in the weapon system, random encounters, etc.) Contents: 1. Mod description 2. New in version 1.2 3. Installation 4. About Us 5. Acknowledgements -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Mod Description -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The mod touches upon Arroyo, Klamath, the regions around them and (slightly) Redding. The most assiduous attention is given to the plot, character development and dialogs. The mod is braced with a unified plot, around with the action of the mod takes place. And at the same time there are plenty of side quests, which have no or little effect on the plot and are just there for the hell of it. The way your game will go relies heavily on things like your base statistics and further development (for instance, investing into previously seldomly used skills may reap interesting results in the future). The mod encloses several locations and maps. For instance, the original rat-infested caves in Klamath have been completely redone, and are now something entirely different. The world map has also been imbued, so watch out for new mini-locations and special quests. The mod adds various new items, including weapons and everyone’s favorite – drugs! The weapons system has also been substantially modified – the specifications of some types of ammunition have changed and some arms have been replaced. New possibilities have also been added – like combining different components in order to create various drugs, etc. The mod fits almost perfectly into the original game world and plot, so after finishing the mod you can just go on playing the original game – but now with new items and abilities! OH AND YEAH: This is but a short list of changes, you’ll just have to finger out the rest on your own ;). And another thing... Quite a few characters from the original game have remained untouched. Well, we were making a mod, not a brand new game ;). So if you come across some minor mismatches in the dialogs of the “new” and “old” characters along the way, then just remember – it’s not a new game, just a mod ;). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. New in version 1.2 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Attention! The text below might contain spoilers! In version 1.2 the bugs and errors, that were reported to us on the TeamX forum, were fixed. That is: - bugs with the rumors about unfairly passing the trials; - bug with Emily in the baths; - missing lines in the dialogues with key NPCs about the sewers in Klamath; - bug with the location of Shack - dialogue with Jack now works correctly. New Year comes to New Vision. That means: New Vision now includes balance changes from the New Year mod by TeamX: - higher chance of random encounters (10-15%), minimum level requirement is 5; - encounters with Enclave patrols much more dangerous; - specs of some critters altered; - price of munitions raised, their quantity lowered; - sniper rifle now much more rare and powerful; - super-stimpack doesn't take away hit-points, instead lowers perception like the Healing Powder. Plus, traders have less bullets to sell and they are less likely to be respawned. Fixed bug with the Holy Grenade: now it can be found. Executables fixed with the patch that diminished the speed of map traveling. Minor bug fixes, though not amounting to the proud title of a patch :). Finally: the mod incorporates "MrFixit" to the storyline. Now you can do upgrades and assemble items by yourself, but prior to this you will have to learn how do it from the "specialists". Besides, NPCs who do upgrades now can't perform them without special spare parts. Addendum: more information on "MrFixit" can be found on www.teamx.ru.

Haxor is a premade character you can add to the standard list. You have to go into the Fallout system files in My Computer/ C:/ Program Files/ BlackIsle/ Fallout 2/ date/ premade and drop the files in, and they should show up. Here is the description: This character is considered a genius by the elders. He has never been a problem, and has always helped out when he could. Whenever the traders came by he would always help them as much as he could, in hopes one of them might be kind enough to give him one of those neat looking boxes with the flashing lights to thank him for his help. No such luck, so, as any young lad would do, he stole one, and has learned everything there is to learn from it. With such a newfound enjoyment, he jumped at the chance to leave the tribes grounds to search and learn about everything else. With his intelligence, he can quickly pass the Chosen One's test and continue in his quest of knowledge. No computer will be safe from Haxor.

This modification was made by Longbaugh, and pointed out to me by local Community member Jim. This mod replaces most of the weapons in the game with something new, and is definetly worth checking out. To apply this mod, you can either use falche, or do the following:
1) Unzip the file to your Fallout 2 folder.
2) Rename the longmodb1.6.dat file to patch000.dat (if you have a file with this name in the folder already, you may want to make a backup of it before hand).
3) Play the game, and enjoy.

You have to go into the Fallout system files in My Computer/ C:/ Program Files/ BlackIsle/ Fallout 2/ date/ premade and drop the files in, and they should show up. Here is the description: This character is, well, very unique. No one talks to him, and no one cares about him. This is fine for ted, because he does not care about anyone else. He was perfectly happy living in his little shack tinkering with his toys, until some dumb old lady in a robe came and told him he was chosen. Chosen for what? Oh well, ted just went along with it in the hope that it would be over soon. His feelings were suddenlu changed when the elder told him that there were explosive materials in the temple. He started preparing right away for his test. He loves chemicals and bombs. He can kill numbers of people in one well set blast, and he never fails. He is the smartest of his generation, and the smartest person ever to set foot in Arroyo. He is exceptionally skilled in the sciences and with traps.
